Our band, Children of the Light, performed this song live for the last time (that I can remember) in 1975, and then dropped it from our set lists. Consequently, we never made a studio recording. But this song is very special to me. So, after all these years, I’ve tried to create a decent recording of it and am happy to share the result. Here’s why it means so much to me:

One morning, in the early 70’s, I woke up with a profound sense of the Lord’s nearness. It was almost a physical sensation of his presence. And with that feeling there was also an understanding. It seemed like the Lord wanted me to know that he was there to wake me because of HIS excitement about the day we would spend together. I don’t mean to sound irreverent, but it was like the kind of joyful expectation in a child’s heart on Christmas morning while waiting for their parents to get out of bed. I was deeply humbled and moved by that experience and just had to try to capture the exquisite beauty of the moment in a song.
